km in a 34 year old car! By chance, in January 2005 I came across a newspaper article about the Plymouth to Banjul Challenge and was immediately intrigued. I'd long been a fan of the famous Paris-Dakar Rally but that multi-million dollar event is now beyond the reach of most people. Something about the idea of doing the trip in a £100 banger appealed to me and so, here we are, preparing to set off in late December 2005. |
